Running 2023 km / 2023 miles in a year requires a high level of commitment. This means that you would run an average of 5.54 km / 5.54 miles every day of the year. Running this distance can be difficult even for the most experienced runners.

How can I take part in the challenge?

Keep track of how many kilometers you need to average daily or weekly to achieve finisher status.

You can run throughout the year

You can choose to run 2023 kms at any time between January 1st and December 31st in order to meet the event finisher criteria.

Go for a run at any hour of the day

Being a virtual event, you are free to run where you want, when you want without being bound by any time restrictions.

Submit your run data

Submit your run data via the event website or app, and compare your results to those of other participants.

Leaderboard & Reports

After registering for the event, you will be able to install the official HDOR app (iOS | Android) and display your event stats for the activities you have submitted.

Once you have completed the registration process, check your ranking in relation to other participants, as well as the podium finishers in each run category.

Using your HDOR login account, you will also be able to view all reports and leaderboards here on your laptop or computer.

Use Your Favorite Apps

Since the event is online, participants must register their activity information online using one of the several applications.

Apps like Strava, MayMyRun, Runkeeper, Garmin Connect and TomTom Sport, Fitbit or AppleWatch or any other mobile app that supports sharing your activity data as a public GPS activity link can be used to record and submit your activity.

We also support automatic data import from Strava. Manual data submission is not required if you use another mobile app or device to export app data to your Strava account.

Finisher Criteria

You must run the 2023 km/mile target event distance to be considered as a finisher, that too within the calendar year beginning January 1st and ending December 31st.

When do registrations end?

Registration never ends since there is no cut-off date to register for HDOR challenges. You can register anytime and start your challenge (all challenges will commence Jan 1st onwards). All challenges are limited to a calendar year. The earlier you register for the challenge, the better your chances of completing it before the end of the year.

Can I register for multiple distance challenges?

Sure, participants are welcome to sign up for multiple distance challenges. For example, you could sign up for the 200 km and 300 km distance challenges and try to complete both in the same year. You can also register for distance challenges that must be completed within a calendar year, such as the 100 km challenge. Along with this, you can also take up themed challenges, such as Kargil to kanyakumari that must be completed according to the individual challenge timelines.

By when do I need to complete the distance challenge?

All challenges must be completed within the same calendar year (starting Jan 1st and ending Dec 31st).

How do I record and submit my run data?

Please refer to the HDOR data submission guidelines page for details.

When will my Strava run data be imported?

Your run will be available on our website within an hour of your run data submission or post availability in your Strava account if you have connected your HDOR account to Strava.

If your run data is not available in your account within one hour, please submit the activity link and run data manually via app or website.

Can my run be disqualified?

Event organizers can reject any entry which has suspect GPS data (straight line outside normal run route, unrealistic high pace like sub 3 min/km pace at any time during run, etc)

Event organizers have the right to take any decisions for disqualifying a participant if the participant is considered to have taken any external help in running the distance (like using a cycle or any other vehicle) or cheated in any way.

How do I qualify for the finishers medal?

Only participants who achieve the overall target distance or number of runs of specific distance as per the distance challenge finisher criteria, within the defined challenge timeline will be awarded the finishers medal.

When will I receive the finishers medal?

Finisher medal will be dispatched as per below timelines.
If participant achieve target distance by 30th June 2023, then medal will dispatched by 30th Sept 2023.
If participant achieve target distance by 30th Sept 2023, then medal will dispatched by 31st Dec 2023.
If participant achieve target distance by 31st Dec 2023, then medal will dispatched by 31st Mar 2024.
