Finisher Criteria

The goal of the event is to motivate all participants to achieve their best, and get maximum fitness benefits from this challenge. You can run all 100 days, or walk the minimum event distance of 1 km once or twice a week instead of running for your recovery (recommended), or maybe just mix runs and walks through the 100 days as you feel comfortable.

Missing a few days here and there due to personal work/life commitments will not disqualify you from the event.

To qualify for the finisher medal, participant must submit activity data for at least 40 days.

Special Guidelines for 2020 Edition

Given that this edition of 100 Days of Running is taking place in a special situation during worldwide Covid-19 pandemic where different parts of the world are subject to various restrictions, we have the following guidelines for our participants to be followed for the 2020 edition.

Minimum Distance

Minimum daily distance reduced to 1 km

Unlike last year’s requirement for running or walking a minimum of 2 km daily, this year we are reducing this requirement to 1 km. Also, running at least 40 or more days will qualify participant as an event finisher.

Indoor Runs

Indoor runs are allowed

Participants can run or walk indoors as part of this event. They can do this using a GPS watch in indoor/treadmill mode, or using indoor workout mode of supported mobile activity tracking apps. If not using any of the aforementioned data submission, a maximum of 5 km distance can be submitted without proof on daily basis.

Night Curfew

Follow night curfew guidelines

Night curfew guidelines are in effect in India for the 9 pm to 5 am timeline. If participants plan to run during this timeline, they must do the run/walk indoors.

Social Distancing

Follow social distancing guidelines in effect

Participants must follow the social distancing guidelines in effect around them. This means maintaining a minimum distance of approximately 6 feet from other people when outdoors, and not running in groups. Only exception to this is for running alongside family members who stay together.

You need to cover a minimum distance of 1 km everyday as part of this challenge.

Completing at least 40 days out of 100 will make you an event finisher.

You may use a mobile app like Strava etc or a GPS watch to record your daily run data.

You can even participate if you do not want to use any app or watch, by just reporting your daily distance and time on event website or app (although we have daily distance submission limit of maximum 5 km in such cases without proof).

Event organizers can reject any entry which has suspect GPS data (straight line outside normal run route, unrealistic high pace like sub 3 min/km pace at any time during run, etc)

Data Submission FAQ

Do I need to use a mobile app or GPS watch to participate?

Using a mobile running app or GPS watch is not mandatory, but is strongly recommended.

You may also submit your daily run data distance and time just by entering that information on the HDOR website or mobile app. A maximum distance of 5 km in a day will be accepted without proof.

Which mobile apps can I use to submit proof of my activity?

You may use any mobile fitness app which has following details of your activity available as publicly visible data which rest of the participants should also be able to see (it should not be a private activity)

– activity distance
– activity pace
– activity km or mile splits
– activity map

Also, your fitness app should be able to share all the above info as a public activity link or URL which anyone can click to open and view those details.

Some of the supported apps include Strava, Runkeeper, Endomondo, MapMyRun, MapMyRide.

Some apps do not support sharing of public activity data in the form of a link and are hence unsupported. Examples of such apps are Nike Run Club, Runtastic, Apple Health, Fitbit, Amazfit. Some such apps however support export of the activity data to other apps like Strava, in which case you will require setting up such export and then submitting the exported Strava data.

Is there an HDOR app for Android or iPhone?

Yes, we have Android phone and iPhone (iOS) apps for HDOR. You can download it as below:

iOS |
Android

You can use the HDOR app to (1) Submit activity data (2) Check event leaderboards and reports (3) See your run logs

How do I record and submit my run data?

Data submission: You can submit your run data directly on our website or HDOR app after logging in to your account with your credentials. You will need to submit your run distance and time data, and in case of distance beyond 5 km, a mandatory activity link.

Activity Link: Activity link is a URL or website link which has details of your recorded run activity, including date, time, distance, splits, pace, etc (see this for details). You can find and share or copy activity links from your running app or from the website for the app or GPS watch. You must ensure that all your activity links are public so that other event participants and event admin can view and verify your activity data.

Manual entries: Manual entries without activity link proof can be submitted but only for a max distance of 5 km, and only once for any day.

Running apps to use: Some of our recommended apps are: Strava, Runkeeper, Endomondo, MapMyRun, Garmin Connect, TomTom Sports. See full list here.

Automatic run data import: We support automatic import of your running app data if you have connected your HDOR account with your Strava account from the Connected Apps section on website. If you do not use Strava app, many apps, GPS watches and websites allow exporting recorded activity to Strava, something you can explore and consider if you do not want to manually submit each run data.

Combining GPS activities using tools: All submitted runs must be a single recorded GPS activity. Multiple activities are not allowed to be combined into one activity using online tools and then submitted.

Public race data submission: You can also submit link to your finish timing from any public organized races (like Mumbai Marathon, etc) which use timing chip and have your event results online on a unique page with a unique URL or link.

Treadmill runs: Treadmill runs recorded using GPS watches or apps and for which you have a public activity link which shows distance, time, pace, and splits will be acceptable for submission.

For step by step data submission process, refer to our website support page.

Can I run indoor or on a treadmill?

Treadmill runs: Treadmill or indoor runs recorded using GPS watches or apps and for which you have a public activity link which shows distance, time, pace, and splits will be acceptable for submission.

However, if you do treadmill running without such data proof, you can still manually submit your daily run data, subject to a maximum distance of 3 km for a day.

Can I submit data for past dates?

Older date data submissions are allowed for up to 10 days in the past, including the date of run (except when the event is over, in which case submission has to be completed within 3 days of event finish, i.e. by Aug 5th). Example, Jun 15th run data may be submitted latest by Jun 24th. Data submission beyond these prescribed time limits will not be accepted. It is participant’s responsibility to ensure timely submissions.

The last date for submitting all entries after the event is over is Aug 5th. No submissions will be accepted beyond that.

Similarly, in case of any Strava import issues, the participant is required to bring it to the attention of the support team within the required submission timeframe as above.

How do I connect my account to Strava for automatic import?

On your mobile or computer browser head to our website and access the Menu >> Settings >> Connected Apps section to connect your HDOR account to Strava

On your mobile app, visit the Menu >> Connected Apps section to connect your HDOR account to Strava

For step by step process to connect your HDOR account to your Strava account so that all your run/walks are automatically imported, check out the help video on our help and support page.

When will my Strava activity data be imported?

Your run will be available on our website within an hour of your run data submission or post availability in your Strava account if you have connected your HDOR account to Strava.

If your run data is not available in your account within one hour, please submit the activity link and run data manually via app or website, and contact our support team at support@hdor.com.

Can I walk instead of run?

We allow participants to mix running and walking. In fact, we recommend running challenge participants to take a couple of rest days as their recovery days by walking the minimum distance required if any as part of any specific event rules (like the requirement to run daily a minimum distance of 2 km for 100 Days of Running event). However, we have setup a minimum pace requirement for your walks. It should be at an average pace of 20 mins/km or faster to be considered for the event.

Can I run/walk multiple times a day?

You can run or walk multiple times a day and submit each activity detail on the website.

What is the minimum distance I can submit?

For any data submission, the minimum distance eligible to be submitted is 1 km. No distance less than 1 km will be accepted, or considered valid for the event.

What is the maximum distance I can submit?

With proper proof of activity in the form of a valid activity link from mobile app or GPS watch, there is no upper distance limit for submission.

However, if submission is without acceptable proof, then a maximum distance of 5 km can be submitted.
